In re: Who says the IRS doesn’t have a heart

While one isn’t able to rely on a newspaper when arguing their taxes, the IRS won’t penalize some Cleveland tax payers who went to post offices that the Cleveland Plain Dealer listed as being open later then they really were and thus didn’t get the April 17 postmark. So they do have a heart, although if you relied on the same paper for advice on your deductions, the argument might not work.
