In re: Who can sing The Star-Spangled Banner?

Recently President Bush was asked about his opinion on the new spanish version of the Star-Spangled Banner.  Answering without much thought he said it wasn't right and that they should know the English version.  It is interesting only because so few Americans can do such a thing, why should there be such a backlash about a Spanish version (actually there have been Spanish versions long before this ones including translations by US gov't departments).  The other amusing issue is really that Bush and most of us only know the first verse of the song, this is fine, its de facto become the whole song, but how many of us even know that there are more then one?

See a slate article "No one can sing 'The Star-Spangled Banner'" and also see Wikipedia entry on the national anthem
