In re: Finally on to the important stuff

Roger Clemens is testifying about his steroid use (or supposed lack of), Arlen Specter wants an investigation into why the NFL allowed the Patriots to destroy evidence of their cheating (see Arlen’s tangled Comcastic mess: It’s worse than you think), and Sen. Sherrod Brown from Ohio wants the NFL to acknowledge the Browns undefeated 1948 season. Whew, to me this is great, it must mean with all the attention our law makers are paying to these important issues that every other problem in our country must have been fixed and we can now turn our attention to fixing these last few flaws. Schools, check. All good there. Health care, check. Same story. Immigration, check. So it seems all we gotta do is fix our sports.

It boggles my mind that these folks sitting in Washington don’t realize that what they are doing is such a waste of time, I love sports but I really think that our government could find a few better things to do with their time (its not like they are doing these investigations on the side on their nights and weekends) and almost everyday I come across another example of this crap.

So let me get this right. Sen. Arlen Specter, the ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, wants NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to testify about destroying tapes related to the Patriots using videotape to watch the strategy of another football team …

Yet the senator has never considered asking President George Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney to testify about why they allowed the National Security Agency to spy on American citizens in violation of the Constitution of the United States. BostonHearld
