In re: Indians end triple-A deal with Buffalo

The Cleveland Indians informed Major League Baseball yesterday of their desire to terminate their player development contract with triple-A Buffalo, ending a 14-year partnership with the Bisons.

The Indians’ decision appears to clear the way for the club to move its top minor-league affiliate to Columbus to play in new Huntington Park next season. Cleveland already has three minor-league teams — Akron, Lake County and Mahoning Valley — in Ohio.

The Columbus Dispatch : Indians end triple-A deal with Buffalo.

While I was already excited about the new stadium in Columbus that is going in a mile from my house in the Arena District, I am now 10X as excited as it looks like a deal to be the Indians AAA farm team is getting closer to being a done deal.  The setup for Cleveland and Columbus is perfect, already you have a lot of Indians fans here and the Indians have the TV infrastructure here already (STO) to do a lot of clippers broadcasts and help grow that brand here and also get the broadcasts up to Cleveland where people can see the future players.  I will be going to a bunch of games and not just dime a dog nights.
